Senator Sylvia Larsen

Senate Democratic Leader
Serving District 15 since 1996

Sen. Larsen has been serving in the State Senate for seven terms. Between 2006-2010, she served as President of the Senate.

Sen. Larsen served for 10 years as the Senate’s representative to the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund and the Healthy Kids Corporation. In addition, as the sponsor of the first in the nation tax-free college savings 529 plan, she was chairwoman of the New Hampshire College Tuition Savings Plan Commission. She continues to serve on the New Hampshire Workforce Opportunity Council, and the New Hampshire Youth Council.

In addition to her responsibilities in the Senate, Senator Larsen was co-chairwoman of the Capitol Center for the Arts capital campaign drive and the Concord Boys and Girls Club Teen Center drive. She served on the Board of Directors of the Concord Regional Development Corporation, and is an incorporator of the Merrimack County Savings Bank. Addressing the needs of homeless women and children, she is the immediate past chairwoman of the board of directors of Families in Transition-Concord.

Sylvia and her husband, Robert, live in Concord and have two grown children.
