CONCORD—Today, a Senate amendment to delay for up to two years drinking water standards related to PFCs/PFAS set to be released in just three weeks was offered. It was voted down on a party line 14-10 vote.
After the vote, Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes (D-Concord) issued the following statement:
"The law passed in 2018 requires PFAS water standards to consider cost as well as impact to public health, particularly prenatal. After working together for years, we are just a few weeks away from safe drinking water standards in New Hampshire. I am disappointed that my Republican colleagues would delay that standard for up to two more years. Our kids, our families, and our families simply cannot wait for safe drinking water."
