CONCORD - Today, the Senate voted in favor of SB 631 to authorize online voter registration through an online portal created and managed by the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s Office. Currently, forty-one states have online voter registration. New Hampshire and Maine are the only remaining New England states without online voter registration.

Following the vote, prime sponsor Senator Melanie Levesque (D-Brookline) issued the following statement:

“New Hampshire has a long and proud tradition of engagement with the democratic process. Our first-in-the-nation primary elections this year boasted a record turnout. By enacting online voter registration, we create a clearer path towards participation for every eligible voter and continue to support our dedication to political engagement.”
