Senator Kevin Cavanaugh
Senator Kevin Cavanaugh is serving his 2nd term representing Senate District 16. For the 2019-2020 legislative session, he serves as Chairman of the Commerce Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Executive Department and Administration Committee.
Senator Cavanaugh was born and raised in Manchester and served as a Ward 1 Alderman, longtime coach and advocate for working families. Senator Cavanaugh has spent the past 33 years as a union employee in the telecommunications industry and has a deep understanding of our state and the struggles many hardworking families face.
He has coached high school football at Memorial and West, as well as multiple youth hockey, soccer, baseball, and softball teams. Senator Cavanaugh was first elected to the Board of Aldermen in 2015. He lives in Manchester Ward 1 with his wife and three teenage children.
