NH Senate Passes SB 290, Improvements to the Granite Advantage Health Care Program

CONCORD—Today, the New Hampshire Senate passed SB 290-FN, 14-10, which would make improvements to the New Hampshire Granite Advantage Health Care Program, clarifying the work and community engagement requirement. The bill now goes to the Senate Finance Committee.

Prime sponsor Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) released the following statement after the vote:

“With the Trump administration’s continued efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, it is incumbent upon every New Hampshire legislator to put systems in place to protect the health and wellbeing of Granite Staters. I’m pleased by today’s vote to pass SB 290, which clarifies and improves the work and community engagement requirement to ensure it fulfills the spirit of the bipartisan Medicaid expansion compromise reached last session and improves health outcomes instead of ending in arbitrary loss of coverage for thousands. I look forward to continuing to move this critical initiative through the legislative process.”
