CONCORD—Today the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted 213-141 to pass SB 241, which enables New Hampshire to access federal funds to undertake an in-depth analysis of the financial, engineering, and environmental implications of expanding rail. SB 241 passed the state Senate in February, 14-10.
Prime sponsor Senator Melanie Levesque (D-Nashua) released the following statement after the vote:
“Passenger rail is a key component to New Hampshire’s efforts to grow our economy, ease traffic, improve commutes, and attract and retain young professionals. I commend today’s House vote in support of SB 241, the next critical next step toward establishing passenger rail through the capitol corridor project—at no cost to New Hampshire taxpayers.”
