CONCORD - Today, Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) introduced SB 590 to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. If enacted, SB 590 will establish a committee to develop science-based emissions reduction goals for the state of New Hampshire.

After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) issued the following statement:

“We know that increased air pollution and emissions are negatively impacting the economy, natural resources, and public health of New Hampshire. It is essential that as a state we work to reduce our exposure to airborne pollutants, protect public health, and retain New Hampshire’s competitive advantage; this committee will help us do just that.”
