CONCORD - Today, Senator David Watters (D-Dover) introduced SB 427 to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. If enacted, SB 427 would establish the New Hampshire youth climate and conservation council.

After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator David Watters (D-Dover) issued the following statement:

“New Hampshire’s youth will be affected by current and future decisions regarding climate change for the rest of their lives. They rely on their governing bodies to take action to protect clean water, clean air, and the economic growth and workforce development that goes hand in hand with the creation of renewable energy jobs. New Hampshire’s youth, the people who will continue to live, work, and raise families of their own in the Granite State, are urging lawmakers to give them an opportunity to discuss the impacts of climate change and recommend action to their local and state government--it’s time for all of us to listen.”
