CONCORD - Today, HB 1582, an omnibus bill relative to veterans protections, was signed into law. The bill, championed by Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood), previously passed the Senate in a vote of 23-1 and was concurred by the House 290-36.

Senator Jon Morgan (D-Brentwood) issued the following statement in response:

“In my time working in terrorism threat assessments with the Department of Defense, I had the honor of working with our veterans on a daily basis. As elected officials, it is our duty to support those who have dedicated their lives to serving their country. HB 1582 incorporates several pieces of legislation that support the long term success of the veterans living and working here in New Hampshire, including the Veterans Bill of Rights, a bill I was privileged to bring before the Legislature and that passed unanimously through the Senate. This legislation will assist our veterans to start businesses, find jobs and apprenticeships matching their skillset, obtain physical and mental health services, prevent suicide, achieve license and certification reciprocation, access educational opportunities for themselves and their families, and continue the fight to end veteran homelessness. I am grateful to my Senate and House colleagues for their continued bipartisan support of these programs and am glad to see HB 1582 signed into law.”
