Fiscal Committee Meeting Postponed After Anti-Vaccine Protest Shuts Down Executive Council Meeting

CONCORD – Today, the meeting of the Joint Legislative Fiscal Committee scheduled for Friday, October 1st was postponed following a reckless anti-vaccine protest at an Executive Council meeting earlier today. The Fiscal Committee was scheduled to take up the same funding for the state’s immunization program that was being protested at this morning’s Executive Council meeting, leaving state employees fearing for their safety.
Fiscal Committee member Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement in response:
“Earlier today, anti-vaccine protestors were allowed to disrupt the democratic process right under Governor Chris Sununu’s nose. Now, the peoples’ business is being delayed once again because the Governor and his Republican majorities refuse to recognize the serious threats being made by far-right extremists. The lack of action by Republican leadership is absolutely unacceptable.”
