CONCORD - Today the GOFERR Legislative Advisory Board voted 8-0 to recommend an allocation of $110,000 for Mascoma Community Health Center. Mascoma currently serves around 4,300 patients in the Mascoma Valley.
After the announcement, Senate Finance Chair Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester), who serves on the Governor’s Office for Economic Relief and Recovery (GOFERR) Legislative Advisory Board, released the following statement:
“From the first day of this crisis we have understood that the survival of our health care facilities would be crucial to our recovery efforts. Mascoma Community Health Center serves 35% of the population in their catchment area, providing medical and dental services to both insured and uninsured patients. Like many of our health care facilities, they took the necessary steps to protect public health and now are facing dire financial consequences. Today’s recommended allocation will be instrumental in keeping their doors open and ensuring their ability to continue providing care to their patients.”
