Members of Governor Sununu’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion Resign Following Passage of State Budget
CONCORD - Today, 10 out of 17 members of Governor Sununu’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion submitted a letter of resignation following the Governor’s signature of HB 2, the budget trailer bill which includes an anti-American gag rule prohibiting freedom of speech around ‘divisive concepts’ like racism and sexism.
Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) issued the following statement in response:
“Every day, Governor Sununu reminds the people of New Hampshire that he is not serious about creating a fair and just state for every Granite Stater. I commend the former members of the Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion for standing up for what is right, just, and important if we are to move forward as a society, and hope that the Sununu administration recognizes the failure of leadership that led them to this decision. Granite Staters will continue to call out Governor Sununu after he quietly signed the most extreme budget New Hampshire has ever seen that bans abortions and prevents us from having important discussions about the history of our country."
