CONCORD – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) introduced SB 47 to the Senate Election Law and Municipal Affairs Committee. The bill permanently enacts no-excuse absentee registration and voting, and partial processing of absentee ballots prior to election day.

After the hearing, Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) issued the following statement:

“The right to vote is one of our most cherished rights, and it needs to be readily accessible to all our constituents. After the record breaking voter turnout this past November the message was clear, no-excuse absentee ballots are a secure and fair way to increase election accessibility. This bill recognizes New Hampshire’s unmatched capability to conduct successful elections, no matter the challenges. I am proud to introduce this legislation and look forward to continuing our efforts to increase voter accessibility.”
