CONCORD – Today, the Senate Commerce Committee unanimously passed SB 126-FN, Senator Perkins Kwoka’s (D-Portsmouth) bill to would make adjustments to landlord tenant law, giving more flexibility to tenants who may be struggling to pay their rent.
After the vote, Senator Rebecca Perkins Kwoka (D-Portsmouth) issued the following statement:
“The past year has created unparalleled financial instability for tenants and landlords alike. It has been a tough year and many are working together to keep people housed. I am grateful for the work done by my colleagues and stakeholders to develop a bill that creates critical guardrails for tenants struggling to pay their rent while also protecting landlords’ income.”
