CONCORD – Today, the Senate Finance Committee voted Ought to Pass on SB 118, also known as the Property Tax Relief Act of 2021, in a vote of 4-3.

After the vote, prime sponsor Senator Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) issued the following statement:

“In every budget process, our local communities clearly articulate how the high cost of property taxes is an unsustainable burden. The Property Tax Relief Act of 2021 works to address that concern by providing municipal aid grants to our cities and towns with a requirement that 60% of the aid be used for property tax reduction. This is opportunity to put partisan politics aside and provide meaningful relief to taxpayers during a time of enormous economic strife. I thank my colleagues for their support of this important legislation.”
