Senate Republicans Block Taxpayer Rescue Act of 2021

CONCORD – Today, during a budget work session of the Senate Finance Committee, Republican committee members voted against an amended version of the Taxpayer Rescue Act of 2021, a modest effort to provide much-needed property tax relief to Granite Staters at a time when they need it most.
After the vote, amendment sponsor Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement:
“Today’s vote by my Republican colleagues abandons property taxpayers. Our communities depend on our great teachers, police, and firefighters to keep our residents and streets safe, and this bill was our opportunity to do what’s right by them. Today’s vote was nothing short of a vote to increase property tax burdens for our constituents while risking public safety”
