CONCORD – Today, in a party line vote of 14-10, Senate Republicans voted Ought to Pass with Amendment on HB 220, a dangerous and unnecessary piece of legislation following the deaths of over 1,300 Granite Staters from the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the hearing, Senator Tom Sherman (D-Rye) issued the following statement:
“We can trace the sharp decline of Covid in our state directly to the success of our vaccination policy. This is hardly the time to undermine this proven public health defense. New Hampshire already has codified religious and medical exemptions for those individuals who want to make the personal choice to not receive vaccinations. This unnecessary bill will dangerously interfere with state and national efforts to protect public health.”
