CONCORD - Today, Senate Republicans voted down an amendment to provide necessary funding to New Hampshire’s family planning centers while they await federal funding in order to continue operations.
After the vote, Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement:
“Today’s vote was a continuation of Republicans’ commitment to dismantling access to reproductive health care and family planning services in New Hampshire. Our family planning centers currently serve 15,000 Granite Staters as their primary health care providers. Particularly for low income individuals, or those living in rural communities with limited health care access, the critical services provided by family planning centers like cancer screenings are an essential lifeline. I am disheartened to see Republicans’ continued indifference to the very real health care needs of individuals who rely on these services.”
