CONCORD – Today, Republican members of the Senate Finance Committee voted against an amendment proposed by Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) and Senator Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) to restore fiscal capacity disparity aid to the New Hampshire school districts in most need of financial assistance.

After the vote, Senator Cindy Rosenwald (D-Nashua) issued the following statement:

“Today’s vote by my Republican colleagues will further delay the conversation and delivery of fiscal capacity disparity aid to the school districts most in need of help. This money also could have been used to assist school districts facing drastic budget cuts to minimize local property tax increases. Today, Senate Republicans once again delayed crucial financial aid to their own school districts, and their vote will increase property taxes across the state."
