CONCORD – Today, Senator David Watters (D-Dover) introduced SB 151 to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. SB 151 establishes a program for the procurement of renewable energy and the financing of offshore wind energy generation resources in New Hampshire.
After the hearing, prime sponsor Senator David Watters (D-Dover) issued the following statement:
“New Hampshire is uniquely positioned when it comes to the development of offshore wind as a source of renewable energy. Following the work of the Commission to Study Offshore Wind and Port Development, we have the opportunity to create new jobs, promote economic development, and lower energy costs for New Hampshire ratepayers while moving us towards a more sustainable future.”
